How ’bout we take it easy with a lil’ quote for this lovely Friday.
Here ya go – one of my favs, just for you:
There’s a little boy and on his 14th birthday he gets a horse…and everybody in the village says, “How wonderful. The boy got a horse” And the Zen master says, “We’ll see.” Two years later, the boy falls off the horse, breaks his leg, and everyone in the village says, “How terrible.” And the Zen master says, “We’ll see.” Then, a war breaks out and all the young men have to go off and fight…except the boy can’t cause his legs all messed up and everybody in the village says, “How wonderful.”
Now the Zen master says, “We’ll see.”

Find what you love and let it kill you.
Let it drain you of your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh
you down into eventual nothingness.
Let it kill you and let it devour your remains.
For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it’s much
better to be killed by a lover.
— Charles Bukowski

I guess I better start by introducing myself. Hello there, I am professional writer. Whew! Glad that’s out there. It’s a hard thing to say when you know the first question is, “What have you written?” Well, I have written a children’s book but I’m not quitting my day job just yet.
I also wanted to mention that I’m going to do my best to use my true voice for this blog, which means its going to be a little ADD. And depending on the day you may want to: write me hate mail, put me down for a nap or cuddle in front of a fire together. But I’m ready for any or all of the above because putting yourself out there for the world to see (and read) also means accepting the judgement that comes with it.
So the question I had to ask myself was – is it worth the risk?
And here we are. Welcome to my blog!
